What do we think of Squires in the position for historical or loyalty reasons?  When we merged the three lower ranks into one, some members were effectively demoted from old soldier rank to new soldier rank which is now the lowest regular member.  Also, we have some Squires that really do not fit our new expectations; however, they have been with AoL for years.  Is there room in Squires for loyal long time members, or should we be strict about expectations?

btw.  Working on officer expectations still.  It's taking us longer than expected.

I also think that a Squire should talk to an Officer if they feel someone warrants being kicked, and as Beau mentioned to me earlier today, Also take screen shots of any incident that you think should be looked into by the Officer's

Yo ho! Mutt here, i believe if someone is going to be kicked it should be discussed with all officers and gm with proved and details of the reason they should be kicked. but i do agree that there should be a chain of command when issues arise.

Just leave the kicking to Beau, plain and simple.

There may be occasions where someone is being a complete jerk, or refuses to stop begging for stuff.  If someone refuses to stop, then kicking may be the only option.  I would rather someone make the choice to kick them out and review the case later, if there are any questions.  Allowing something like that to continue can be very disruptive to the Guild.

I would strongly advise only officers kicking people (if it is 100% necessary) as there is a strict procedure that needs to be followed, but in saying that.. sometimes a person needs to be kicked, and if there is no officer available.. remember the steps involved :-) please take screenshots!!

i have no problem kicking out people, but yes screen shot of evidence to cover your own back is a must for me. i like to cover my decisions even in real life.

As for expectations all looks good to me and if i feel i am not up to it i would defo step down and let someone else take over, i know my own abilities and if i get stuck i would ask for help first rather than let a team down.(apart from help with spelling thats just my own weakness lol)

seriously though i think you have done a great job beau and i if i could promote you to god status

The rank of Squire now has more significance.  You now have the power to recruit new members.  Please see the new guide Kara posted on Recruiting. 

This power is called "Admin Lower Ranks."  This is not something we give lightly.  The expectations for squire may seem easy to achieve, but we must also trust you without question.  "Admin Lower Ranks" also carries the ability to kick members out.  That can be very dangerous in the wrong hands.  

Please, follow Kara's guide lines when recruiting.  You may make up your own recruiting messages, but be sure to tell potential recruits what we are really like.  Don't recruit under false pretenses.  

Unless there is absolutely no other recourse, do not kick any member.  We rarely kick people our except for inactivity.  Unless a member is being completely irrepressible and an officer is not available, you should not even consider kicking a member out.  Take screenshots of any incident and contact an officer asap.

Am I some special exception cause I fell like I am being held to the responsibilities of a squire while only being cavalry. Like on guild missions it's just "Neji take over mutts party while he's on the sh*tter" or "Neji break off and make your own party cause mutts not here and also keep track of them".

Hold up there's a patter to this, that mutt -_- he's been leaving me all of his duties. Dammed that mutt.


*Every time mutt isn't around to do GM I some how end up having to be in charge of a party so I am making the above joke about it.

We have a process to promotions. Squire is a big deal with the power it has. The element of trust is the biggest factor. You have not gone unnoticed, Neji. We can talk more if you like.

I have no issues with being promoted but at the same time I have no problem with my rank not being promoted. I just find it funny I keep ending up with a party to lead when mutts not around. And I understand trust and what it's like to have to make sure you can trust people. I've been a guild leader, clan leader, high ranked officer and captain of teams. So I understand. Whitehawk has seen some of these for himself and in my Call of Duty clan he was my equal till we decided to disband the clan cause of all the fueding going on.

So how does one get promoted in GW1?
